Re-instating an incomplete file.

I didn't notice until it was too late that LW will delete an incomplete after 7 days (unless you change the setting, which I have now done). I had a movie downloaded up to 94% and it has disappeared off LW. It is still in my incomplete files folder in VLC, how do I get it back into LW to complete the download ?

Does that makes sense ? If you need clarification, just ask.

Cheers,

Aussie

Yes it makes sense. I have my 'days to keep incompletes' set to 999 days I think it is.

Go to LW's Library, select the incomplete folder, find the file in question & press the Resume button. This will force it back into the download window.

Hi, newbie here I am afraid !!!!!

My limewire encountered "an internal error" and had to close.

I had the same problem, when restarting it said my incomplete downloads could not be re-loaded.

They are showing in the incomplete folder in windows and they are showing that some of them have almost downloaded (only a couple of meg to go).

I found them in my library tab and clicked resume, but they appear to have started from the beginning again, even though some of them were virtually finished

This means that I have used a lot of my monthly limit

Can I get them to start from where they left off ?????

If you are using LW version 4.12.6 then yes they will start from where they left off. But if you have an earlier version, then unfortunately the answer is no.

I'm just about ready to give up on Limewire altogether as it's been doing som really weird sh*t lately & it's really pissing me off.

Got home from work today, thinking yeah gonna finish downloading this & then get onto this other one. I get home & LW tells me I don't have an internet connection when I clearly do... secondly ALL my incomplete files are now completely gone from the library. :bangh: I had maybe 35 things incomplete (I start & then stop them just to store them in my incomplete folder for downloading later) .... ALL gone.

Any thoughts ? Would a system restore be an option ? I'm not the most computer literate. Or would some other option be appropriate, appreciate any advice guys.

I tried to system restore (to 3 previous dates) and it wouldn't. However in restarting my PC I now have a strong connection according to LW.

I still have the problem of ALL my incomplete files going awol:mad: . A lot of them were over 75% complete so that's a lot of time AND MB's wasted. If there is any way to get them back it'd be appreciated. I've checked the recycle bin to no avail & also done a system search on a couple of titles also to avail. WTF happened ??

If you changed the days to keep incomplete files to more than 7 then this should definitely apply to new downloads.

Also see Downlds refuse to reload (click on link). But with LW 4.12.6 they will continue from where they left off.

does lime wire keep a record or list of all the "incomplete files" even if they have been deleted out of the incomplete files folder?

The way to find out is to search for one of those you deleted. Then see if there's a ripped shred of paper icon next to it. Try downlidng it again & see what happens. I believe the answer to your question is in part, yes. But it will start from scratch if you deleted the original incomplete file.

I tried the resume process from the incomplete folder and they started from the beginning. They were almost finished I have version 4.10.0 pro shouldn't they have restarted from where they left off ?
