Gnutella vs. Bit Torrent

Gnutella vs. Bit Torrent

IN YOUR OPINION???

1. What are the advantages of each of these?

2. Which do you prefer?

3. What do you think about Bit Torrent Clients such as Azureus?

The next LimeWire Betas will have Bit Torrent support. ;) :)
Azureus is a good program.

da1nonly October 27th, 2006 03:32 PM

It will? Awesome! Will I still be able to download stuff directly from Limewire?

Lord of the Rings October 27th, 2006 03:36 PM

Yes. But I'm not sure how it's going to function alongside LW's normal functions.

da1nonly October 27th, 2006 04:04 PM

I'm guessing they'll make another tab, or when you download Limewire now, it'll come in a folder with a Limewire Bit torrent program.

@ da1nonly

Did you ever manage to fix that Azureus issue, because I seriously doubt that Limewire will work for torrents, if you can't get Azureus to work right.

You never posted more detailed specs for your connection BTW. (Because you got it to work or you gave up getting it to work?)

PS. almost forgot :D

Limewire for single audio files and the occational videofile. Azureus for the rest (for the most part). They are on two completely seperate networks, so it's hard to compare the two. I find things on Limewire that I could never find using BitTorrent and vice versa

(With the proper set up you can run both at the same time)

There should BTW the way be an option to choose both:wink:

It works sometimes. And I totally forgot about it. I guess I give up. My connection only affects my seeds, not downloads. Buut my ratio is still above 1. So I think its okay for now. Thanks sleepless.

And yeah, I find Limewire easier than torrents too.

I downloaded Azureus months ago and i found it very hard to use as i was having problems with very slow downloads. I went back to LW and the downloads were normal speed again.

I was getting NAT errors when my firewall was off and my ratio was almost at 1. I couldn't figure it out so i gave up.

The specs for Bit Torrent Clients are more complicated as i found out in a support forum for Azureus.

So i guess Bit Torrent clients are good for people that know how to use them.

Gnutella and bit torrent are both excellent. But I like gnutella better. Plus I can uninstall Azureus soon since LimeWire will be downloading my torrents. When the make the beta soon.

I love them both equally. But Limewire is better because it is faster and has more music.
