cannot rename or delete a song ????
 

I have downloaded several songs over the last few days...and now i want to delete some as they are not good quality or some i just want to rename so they fit properley with the rest of the songs by that artist....but i keep getting that meassage cannot delete or cannot rename as the file in question is in use by another application...and i know it is not......someone please solve this for me.

These are special files(encoded) so they cannot be renamed or deleted.Sometimes they have very unsavoury file names that look bad!
But you can always get around!

1.Any Mp3 like this, you have to play on your desktop player while recording a copy of it live with the windows Wave recorder.Then rename that new file to your liking.Create a new folder and drag the undeltable file into the new folder.Then delete the new folder.Folders can always be deleted including all their contents.

2.If its a Mpeg open it in something like paint shop pro 7 anamations and then save it as a large gif file of your liking.Again drag the undeletable file into a new folder and delete!

I'm having the same problem, and neither of the 2 suggestions above work. I can't move the undeletable file either!

Just try dragging the undeletable file into a created 'New Folder' and then right click the folder and delete.! If that dont delete it then one of your programs is using it.Or its some kind of trojan.Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete quickly and see if there is a new program running under that name.If so End Task it then delete.

the same thing happens on 3 of my files, and they wont drag into another folder, and when I move the rest of my files out of the folder they are in & try to delete that folder is says they are being used by another application, they are not being used by any other applications. I've tried EVERYTHING, but nothing works! Im getting VERY agrivated at this thing. Some body please help me ~ thanx
