i'll give it a go. oh could i just use the standard ip that everybody seems to have? or am i now talking a load of rubbish?

I would just recommend following the instructions, as you have to go deep into the computer for this information...

Make sure you let us know how you get on...

ok the whole layout is totally differant from what it says. seeing as i'm a total novice i'm thinking i should try and put it all back to how it was?

no the layout for setting up the router. its telling me i should see screens that aint there and telling me to click things that aint there. i'm doing what it says to the letter up till this point

Hmmm very strange, but I have seen this before with a friends Dlink modem/router, we ended up just leaving it and her firewall still comes and goes as it pleases...I have not seen a solution for this as yet...So you may have to leave it as is, unless another member has some advice on it...
I will ask around and see if anyone has any insight....

well that was fun. lost my connection and my pc crashed wahey. its all back to how it was now i think. those sites are probably best off actually supplying the correct info or they're likely to get a bad name
