weird download criteria: 11 hits or less only

The strangest thing happens to me when I do a search and download on Limewire. The more people out there that have the same file I am searching for, the less I am able to download. You would think that the more hits on a file the better. I cannot download a file that has more than 11 hits, 11 people with the file. I can start the download if the search results in less than 11 hits, then as the file is downloading, if the hits grow to 60 or so, doesn't affect the download. I am on broadband so speed is not the issue.

Some files I cannot get because they are too popular for my capabilities. For instance: say I search for "Stairway To Leaven?" If more than 11 people have the identical file then I cannot get it.

Unusual, hunh?

Well, maybe one of you out there can comb through the issue for me. Would sure be appreciated.

You are limited in the number of hosts you can download the same file from and this is round about 10 or 12 I forget exactly

Do you know why this is? It seems that the more hosts one can download from, the faster it goes, so why is this limited? It always frustrates me when I find a valid file that has like 30-some hosts, but I can only use 10 and it goes slower than I know it could potentially.
