When I ran LimeWire 1.6d I did not have to put up with banner ads.

How come with LimeWire 1.8 I now have them?

My 640 x 480 display does not have room on it for banner ads and operational buttons/messages at the same time.

PLEASE tell me how to get rid of the ads.

LimeWire has ads built-in since version 8. If you want to get an ad-free version, purchase LimeWire Pro 9 when it is released.

Are you sure you can't uncrease your desktop resolution?

First get the new version of Limewire (v2.02!) and download and install it. Then when in the setup don't install any spyware. After that run cydoor_uninstall.exe in the
C:\Program Files\LimeWire\2.0.2 directory!!!

Then to remove the ads follow my instructions here:

After uninstall LW won't run anymore .
Just replace this file in your /Windows/System/ folder with the one attached .
Then mark it "read-only" .

Voila , you have effectivly neutered CyDoor and LW will stun run without a hitch .
