general type search How do you do a search for a general catagory like games or simulators just to kind of browse to see what is available? |
AFAIK, there is no simple way to do this... Searching 'games' or 'simulators' under programs would be a good place to start, although you may not get many hits. Yes, LW has a 'browse host' feature that you can try, although personally I don't have much luck with it. I have read that having chat enabled can help with this, and trying to browse hosts that also have chat enabled (especially while they are downloading files from you) can help. Overall, LW isn't the best place to get programs...this is the category where you will find the most viruses, trojans, etc.! Here's what I would do... 1. Determine what program(s) you are interested in...search by type of program in Google, look at reviews, etc. 2. Is the program available as freeware or shareware? You may want to download from a more reliable source than LW...especially if the full version is available for trial usage... 3. If you do decide to download a 'program' from LW, make sure you have good antivirus software, and read this: Info on fake files Hope this helps! :rolleyes_2: |
