HaWkLoRd | January 16th, 2007 10:25 AM | Limewire update Does anyone know anything about this "Urgent limewire update download now!!!" Thingy? Im not doing anything with it cos knowing my luck its a virus! Oh yeah and this "Steve Speilberg gets an hilarious prank call" Stuff too! What on earth is going on!?!? |
muhctekdano | January 16th, 2007 10:42 AM | Sounds like you need to fine tune your Limewire...read this: Filtering porn & spam
If you get specific files all the time, filter one word in the file (the less common the better, i.e. Spielberg)
Good Luck  |
HaWkLoRd | January 16th, 2007 12:02 PM | Thanks for that Ill give it a go!:D
Have you ever seen these things come up tho? They seem a little bit too frequent to be just me? |
robsflyingace | January 16th, 2007 09:14 PM | I'm still waiting for an answer also? |
6_pac | January 16th, 2007 09:47 PM | Ignore those files. Right click on them and mark them as junk. You can also use LW's filter to help keep those spam files out(link in muhctekdano's post). |
muhctekdano | January 16th, 2007 10:07 PM | Yes, when I first used LW, I was often tempted to check out the aforementioned phone call... |
Lord of the Rings | January 16th, 2007 10:26 PM | Virus spam definitely. This topic was discussed some months ago. Amazing what the search button can do. |

UnDeRsLuNkY | January 19th, 2007 08:58 PM | I found that just marking files as junk dosent always work. Seems if lots of people have the same file then it just keeps popping up! Just use your filters! |
Lord of the Rings | January 19th, 2007 09:17 PM | The junk filter is a dynamic learning filter. It won't necessarily learn the 1st time. You need to keep adding the same files until it learns exactly what they are. ;) But then it's also wise to have junk results show at bottom of search results just in case there's any errors or retraining required. It's not a 'perfecto' filter but it is effective. |
