No hosts

I have been getting a huge amount of results from a search with no hosts! Sometimes there are 2 or 3 hundred hosts showing but when I try to download it nothing happens and the little "Browse host" icon dosent light up! Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply, Mick. I happened on some of the links listed in browsing for other things and I think one of the BEST "pearls" I gleaned from them was Bitzi! By right clicking on files that DO come up, I was able to see what kind of rating they were getting. Conversely, I did a search for titles I wanted in Bitzi, and found some that were highly rated, then clicked the "APPLICATION IDENTIFIERS" (similar to a torrent, I suppose) and let it load into my open LimeWire.

Not only have I been able to find a lot of high quality files, but my download times are suddenly blazing - one file got over 400KB/s for a while there! (and that was with 5 other files d/ling simultaneously.

It also helped me use other keywords to search, for instance certain file makers put their names on the files and I found a bunch of them looking up the names of high quality file makers.

Big thanks to Mick, Lord of the Rings and Hobo, as well as other regular posters that have made so many helpful contributions to this forum!:xirokrotima: Y'all rock! :PEACE: Keep up the great work! :xeri_ok1ani:

:xirokrotima: Amen, Mick! Since my last post I have found a lot more awesome downloads, GREAT quality files and many speedy connections. I was really at a stalemate until I found Bitzi!

Since we brought up Bitzi here, I thought I would mention what I am currently doing to try to stay organized with downloads and sharing, to avoid sharing bad stuff. I am getting movies now, so I can't watch them all right away. While they are still in my SEARCH window, completed, I launch them to check content. If they launch well and seem good, I remove them from that window. I leave them in my initial SHARED LIBRARY until I watch them. After I watch them, I comment to Bitzi (I feel I should watch to see if there are any problems before I comment) since you can do so from the LIBRARY window but not after they are moved. After watching and commenting, I then move them to another shared file folder. Just a thought. (OK, I am an organizer!)

Heads UP

Hi Leggedy
If you get the Bitcolider, (not sure about spelling) A tiny program, that will
give you direct access from your computer to use Bitzi. L/W dose'nt even
need to be running.
Also Dont forget to jot down the names of the people that report files correctly, those who's apinion's are allways good.
Spamers are already puting false posatives, dont be fooled, If you dont
reco the reporters click on there name,See What els they reported on,
Do you see files that you no are good, you get the idea:PEACE:
Nothing wrong with organized man, im just glad you spelled it for me:o
Keep posting & Reporting (Communication Lives)
Peace.:Smilywais:

Ahh, thanks Mick! I haven't checked the forum for a couple of days because... I FOUND BITCOLLIDER! haha! I have been getting quite intimate with LimeWire and Bitzi, but that's my naure ("if its worth doing at all, its worth getting obsessed about").

I have even found a great way to keep up with the Bitzi reporters that are good - put 'em on my "Interesting Bitizen's" list! I have checked on a couple of "bitizens that seemed fishy or were the only ones reporting on a file, to be sure it wasn't a fake report.

I have even gone as far as to putting a little script to promote Bitzi in my description of every file I share! This is it "Check file integrity with Bitzi first! (Right-click file, ADVANCED > Lookup file with Bitzi)", followed by any more description I want to add. (Told ya I'mma organizer!)

Peace, out :PEACE:
