Content advertising pedophilia

I have noticed that there is content available via LimeWire that mentions not only pedophilia (or ped/s) in the title, but ages of young female/male children under the age of 12 years old with serious inferences of sexual activity by the minor. WTF is going on here? :nono:

Why are files with such blatant advertising and content allowed to be shared via LimeWire?

I believe this is a serious issue, that needs to be addressed. Sure there's porn and sex content - couldn't care less - each to their own. BUT when it comes to young children being abused, and openly advertised here, it annoys the crap out of me. It's irresponsible, and should not be tolerated by anyone.
Is there no way of regulating these types of files to stop them being transmitted around the world to other pedophiles?

Personally, I think pedophiles need some serious help and support, and there are places available to do that for them. For Example, presently there is a hospital in New Zealand working with pedophiles to try and understand, and help them change their damaging behaviour. So they can lead productive lives without hurting themselves or anyone else in the process.

I do not believe this is as simple a matter as me changing my personal filtering preferences. This is a whole different ball game, and the transfer of such files needs to be halted by LimeWire as soon as possible, if possible.

What if anything can be done?

Cheers :)

ON the 6th of March a different thread entitled "Toleration of '**** Video' must stop RIGHT NOW." was listed in this forum.
I was/am unsure if the creator of the thread was speaking of the topic I raised above. If so, and I was supposed to comment there about my concerns (as rules state read other threads first), my error - if it's not blatant, I will miss it.

I came across the mpgs, jpgs etc when d/ling an mp3 from someone. Browsing the host revealed more than I bargained for, and was amazed at how many other members who use LW also had this information available on their pcs. As stated in a reply posted to the thread mentioned above from 06/03/07, LW may have 'trained' the FBI to know what to look for - that's fine and dandy, excellent stuff.
Is there someone at LW people can contact with information, or an email address for the FBI or other countries that LW is aware of?
Are the IP addresses listed under Location (obviously multiple locations list multiple IPs), with the exclusion of the last 4 or 5 numbers listed after the colon ':', the correct IP addresses for the users at that time? (I understand the IP addresses can change, be false, all that type of thing).
Yes, there may be some threads that answer some of these questions in the 100's listed on LW, however I would sincerely appreciate it if someone could take the time to quickly jot down an answer for me.
Thanks.

Cheers

Any sick f**k pedophiliac has to know the FBI is out to get them. So perhaps you've stumbled onto a sting operation in which they are just looking for the IP of someone who shows interest. One can never be too paranoid. LOL

You could be right ZombieGak - a friend of mine who was here at the time, had a similar thought cross his mind.
I certainly hope your example is the situation, and not what that persons HDD represented.
I tripped out when I read some of the titles - how the words kiddy, porn, child, pedo, words describing unwilling children etc had been hidden amongst other parts of the titles - and some not hidden at all.

It's one of those times when you know things happen, it's common knowledge, yet in my absolute ignorance, I did not once even think of it being on LW. Stunned by my own stupidity and naivety! LOL

Think I'll choose to go along your train of thought on this particular matter for the moment - I quite enjoy my paranoid suit, it's well worn and soft on the skin :p

Thanks for taking the time to respond - particularly with humour - very much appreciated. It's always good to laugh :-)

Thanks again.
