version question

I have pro ver 4.12.3. Why is limewire telling me a new upgrade is available? And if Pro is a "one time" payment of $18, why do I have to pay again? What am I missing?

You don't have to pay again, unless you want a newer version of Pro;)
Your payment of $18.88 entitles you to free updates & email support for 6 months...whatever Pro installers you download in the 6 months are yours to use for as long as you like (it's up to you to save & back up installers). After the 6 months is up, you have the choice of keeping what you have or buying Pro again to recieve more updates.

The latest stable release is 4.12.11 & the latest Beta is 4.13.2.

Hope this clears things up for you:)

Yeah, it helps thanks. Two more questions though. Is there some place in Limewire that will tell me when 6 months is up cause I don't remember when I paid? Is there a way besides upgrading (...I assume upgrading will do it) to get the red message at the bottom of my screen telling me there is an upgrade to go away?

You might have to check your statements & see when the Pro payment was made, or you could always try downloading a newer Pro here...

...if it works, you'll know that your 6 months aren't up yet:D

Sorry, but I don't think there's any way of getting rid of an update prompt, apart from updating. I'm a bit confused actually, I've never seen an update prompt from any of my Pros...if it's an upgrade prompt you're seeing then you'd be using the basic version. That prompts you to upgrade to Pro.

Ah, I tried that and told me all the emails I tried weren't valid. I guess if I can't remember that either then it must be beyond 6 months. ...although I can't remember what I did yesterday for the most part.

I would agree with you on the upgrade prompt, although it says, "A newer version is available, update?" But I do have Pro. I think I got it mostly to get rid of the upgrade prompt in the first place. :)

I have a similar question, but more so that when I click on the "A newer version is available", a popup window with a button that says "update now" appears. When I click on the button NOTHING HAPPENS ??
What's the deal there?
