Limewire Open and Shuts Again!
I found Limewire would open then close after updating to the latest version of Java ( 6.1 at the time of posting ). When I removed this latest update and loaded an older version ( 5.5 ) Limewire continued to work properly. Has anyone else observed this?

OPEN and Shuts
YEP, I had the same problem. I still haven't found a solution! I killed the firewall, reinstalled, etc.. and nothing seems to work.
When I first started using it, it worked fine for a DAY then, it just started shutting down for no apparent reason. It only stays up long enough to give me the 'upgrade' box and then shuts.

What Java version are you using...
Try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE offline version....(5th one down) http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp

Unfortunatley I don't have a link to an older version...
Try doing these two fixes... Uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer... http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...oadfree2.shtml If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder... Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should If that doesn't work try downloading the Beta Version of Limewire using the offline installer...
