Using the Chat feature
 

HI,

My chat feature is enabled and I'm right clicking on the ip addresses of those who have a smiley face under the chat column...however nothing happens!

Can someone explain to me how the chat feature works?

I don't think the chat feature works with the current version of Limewire. Some of the older versions work, but both you and the person you want to chat with have to have an older version.

But...having chat enabled does help the 'browse host' feature work better.

If it does work in your version then when the chat window opens start the conversation. If you get no reply then the host is either unwilling to chat at that moment, away from their computer or using another application. Wait about 30 seconds and if nothing happens then give up.
