Pros and cons

Well I'm new to this, as you would call "Community" so it suggested posting a message so I might as well post on about limewires uses.

Now, I love limewire, Because I'm a gamer and well I can download the mmorpgs from limewire instead of downloading from places like filefront that give you half bandwith, also all of the really old games that studios have just given up on, threw away and want nothing else to do with, you can't find them because they don't sell them anymore, and there aren't usually copyrights for these anymore, but you can find them here.

But the cons are the poor labeling...... People don't really know what anything is, I was over at a friend and he was looking up yellowcard (that is a bit to softcore and whiny for my tastes) And well they came up as Gothic rock, Heavy metal, Acid rock, And everything else they weren't, and plus I downloaded warrock off of limewire, and someone had just renamed a cracked version of command and conquer.... So for all the people that make limewire easy to use and are the supportive ones thank you. For all the miscreants who want to mess with people well, I can't say it on these forums.

As a long time forum member I agree with your sentiments, there are people out there that mislabels stuff just for the fun of it. As well as paid agents of the RIAA and MPAA who deliberately stuff the network with false files and viruses. I won’t go into how I feel about people who through carelessness or design allow their malware infected PCs to infect others.

However, I will say this, because the gnutella network has a wealth of computer files on it, both good and bad, you just never know what you will find and that is why it is always an adventure.

Nevertheless, I would advise all P2P users to make sure that their PCs or Macs are fully protected from the known and unknown dangers that are out there.
