Latest version LimeWire

Hi,
I recently joined here, and I have to tell you, after trying to re-install the upgrade for LW 3 times, I finally un-installed it, then downloaded the latest version of Java, then re-installed LW and it works. Yay!! Now.. I have on small problem. Help someone, anyone? I had the music to go to the desktop\downloaded music folder. Now it won't go to this folder. I know it's simple, but I can't sort it out. Anyone???

Thanks

Hi dancinfeet,

Open LW and go to Tools>Options>Saving, click on browse and navigate to the location of the folder you want your files saved to, then click select>Apply>OK. That should do it.

About Saving music in LW

Hi,
Thanks but that doesn't work. It did when I first had LW, a friend helped me set it up. Now I can't find the music that downloads. I wrote to LW and they told me until I'm used to LW I shouldn't change anything about it. They also said, nobody should store things on the desktop.
I've had LW for about 3 yrs, but only recently bought the PRO, I used the free one before. I liked having it on the desktop. I went to tools, option, sharing about 4 times yesterday and again after your post. It just won't work now. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Go to Tools>Options>Saving(not sharing)and browse form there.

Instead of downloading your files to your desktop, it would be better to download them to your shared folder, then put a shortcut on your desktop for that folder.

The default location of your shared folder is C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared. Find that folder, then right click on it and choose to send it to your desktop(create shortcut).

LW

Hello,

I'll try not to post again today. I finally found where my music is downloading to. Into the Limewire library, NOT at all where I intended it to go. I can drag and drop them into folders on the desktop then put in downloaded music but there must be a simpler way. I need 1 2 3 directions but nothing has worked so far. I clicked use defaults, that didn't solve the problem either... :( I can't find the folder you suggested. What's wrong with me?

What operating system(os) are you using? Windows xp or Vista?

OS Vista Home Premium

Hi 6_pac,

I'm using Vista Home Premium. LW works great, just no matter what I type in to have my music go to, it goes to LW Library. I'm dealing with it, by drop/draggin to files, but it would be easier if it just went where I wanted it to go.

Thanks

I don't have Vista but these might help:
Quote:

If you're using Vista and want to see your files outside of LimeWire, you MUST make the save directory somewhere within your user directory.
