How can I transfer Limewire to my new computer?

Hi there!

I am hoping someone may be able to help. Just over a week ago I subscribed to Limewire which costed me approx £60. Since this time, I have decided to purchase a new laptop with a higher spec as my current laptop drives me crazy with its speed. I have enjoyed using Limewire for the past week and do not want to loose my subscribtion especially as it cost me so much money....can anyone advise how I transfer Limewire to my new laptop when it arrives?

Many thanks

G

Hey G

How on Earth did you end up paying £60.00 for Limewire when it cost less than £18.00, i.e. $34.95, with one years technical support and one years upgrades/updates.

You must have gone to a scam site.

I don't think it was a scam site???? I thought I was signing up to the £2 a month but when I completed the registration, it advised me that I had also purchased "Net protect (I think it's called)" and a CD Burner programme - I don't need this stuff and I have no idea how to go about getting a refund??? I do feel ripped off!!!:( Any suggestions????

All of that aside, it would make me doubly MAD if I then found out that I could not transfer any of this stuff onto my new laptop.

Actually, this is part of the e-mail confirmation that I received - can anyone advise if this is genuine and what I've been charged for and why as I'm a bit concerned now. BTW - the Limewire I have downloaded does work!!:

Billing information
Membership type:2 Years Full & Unlimited Access for a total of 23.76 £ GBP
Download Protection - Download new releases and updates for a total of 11.88 £ GBP
Pro Version for a total of 8.97 £ GBP
NetSpyProtector Option - Protect yourself from malware for a total of 14.88 £ GBP

Grand total: 59.49 £ GBP

Many thanks

Also the ONLY site to get Limewire is here.

Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent «

Well G

You got well and truly ripped off, chances are that the site you went to sold you bogus software and Limewire Basic, which is free. You see, that's what scam sites do, sell you crap, free P2P software and a nice looking invoice.

I suggest that you download LW Basic to your new laptop, you will not have lost anything going to the official LW site, as shown in Remoc's post.

As for your money, go to your CC company's anti-fraud section and explain that you have been ripped off by an internet company special set up to rip off internet newbies and novices, you should then get your money back.

Good Luck
