 There are a lot of unofficial limewire sites on the net, maybe you downloaded your version from a scam site...Just a thought..

| Sounds like something else has got into your computer along the way..I've never heard of the actual limewire installer having any Malware with it... Just to make sure you get all of the bugs off your computer once your scan is done, post at one of these sites, they will check and see if your system is completely clean...
