Gnutella Connection

I have recently installed Lime Wire Pro 4.14.8. I have a DSL connection and a Windows XP System. Nothing happens when the Lime Wire page opens. It stays at one bar. When I check the connections on the Lime Wire page a dialog box pops up that says I need to "Add a Gnutella Connection". The first thing it asks for is the name of the Host and I have no Idea what to put in there.

Post your details please: System details - help us to help you

Any other details you can provide will help. What are you doing when it asks for the name of the host? Are you configuring your firewall?

LIme Wire Page

On the Lime Wire Page there are four tabs, Search, Monitor, Connections and Library. When I click on the Connections tab there is a button that says "Add". When I click on that button the dialog box appears, asking me to add the Gnutella Connection. I have configured my Norton firewall to accept LIme Wire, and the Windows firewall is turned off.
I am going through a Local Area Connection " Realtek RTL8139/810X Family " could this be blocking me?

You'd need an ip address to put in as the host. I think your barking up the wrong tree. LW will find hosts on its own.

It might be your router that needs configured or it could be something else. Details please: System details - help us to help you -> Provide these details when you post!!!

See if this looks like your modem here: Port Forwarding for the Westell 2200 Wirespeed.

If it is, you'll need to set up a static ip before you portforward: PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Under the "?" column, it shows an icon for the default player/application associated for that type of file. For example, if a search brings up an .mp3 file, and you have Windows Media Player set as the default player for .mp3's, the icon will be a WMP icon.

The blue music note is LW's default icon for audio files. For some reason it'll switch back to the default, though I haven't had this happen since many versions ago. It doesn't affect the files at all, they'll still play the same.

Try hitting the "Refresh" button on the library page, or shut LW completely down and restart it.

You could try deleting your LW preference folder and that might fix it, but doing so will reset all your option settings so make a note of them first. Instructions in this thread points 2 & 3(check both locations): Fixes for Limewire.

It should be the same as the login for your verizon email account(the admin account). If that doesn't work try U: admin, P: password, or U: admin P: admin.

*Sorry for the delayed response :o.
