Default Reinstalled Windows XP

Hi,

I recently had to have Windows XP re-installed on my computer. The tech saved my Limewire tunes in a backup file on my desktop. How do I get them back into Limewire?

Find your LW saved folder. In LW tools > options > saving will show you the location (by default it's C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Shared).

Or you can go to LW's library (if you have anything in the library at the moment), highlight a file & click Explore...your saved folder will open.

Move files from the backup folder into the saved folder

Try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later

If that doesn't help, can we please have your details?

Make sure that LW's being allowed through the Windows firewall.
User Cant Connect - LimeWire

Try the advice here: all of a sudden will not connect (a fix to try)
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder & changing Java versions.
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed.
If you get confused with deleting the preferences folder, have a look at this post (Windows XP).
One bar, connection problems

If nothing there helps, please give us your details...you need to answer all of the questions here. The details you've given so far don't tell us enough about your setup. Click on the blue link below.
