You are DownLoading 'spoof' or 'spam' or just palin garbage files.
The files you elect to D/L in your Search argument are frequently NOT the REAL thing(s) !

Please do a thorough search within these Gnutella Forums for more info on the "Whys, Wheres and Whom's" (syntax ?) ? of the bums who are DELIBERATELY flooding the p2p world with false and/or malicious files.
Hint... Yes, they are very large corporations who pay almost zero tax.

You, and no one else who has ever paid for a 'PRO' version of ANY Gnutella Network p2p 'Client', have paid for ANY SERVICE WHATSOEVER !
Gnutella Network does NOT function with ANY central server system.
Gnutella Network IS ALL OF US.

Gnutella Network is NOT a supermarket where what you want is on the shelf RIGHT NOW.
It is a community... An ENORMOUS community of like-minded individuals sharing files amongst themselves with NO CENTRAL SERVER INFRASTRUCTURE.

What you have purchased is a version of a Gnutella Network based p2p client that is represented as having features, that you may desire, that are purported to be an enhancement on the performance characteristics of the normal 'FREE' version of the same p2p client.

If the file size for an audio file is below 1000 KB, then the solution is simple: mark it as Junk, and then ignore it!

Here's some tips to identify phony files. Any file that shows a bit rate of 768 in the grey properties popup is almost certainly garbage. Same for any file that shows "Title: not related" in that popup. Titles such as Rare Recording, Eighties classic, Wicked Remix, Totally Hip Track, Rare Recording, or a form like 01 Track 7 are also junk.
To mark a file as junk, right click on the file, select Mark As, and then Junk. When a file is downloaded from this source in the future it will have a trash can icon with it. There is also a right click function called Block Host. It will supposedly block files from that IP address, but I'm not sure how well that will works. Once I put an address on the Block list I don't get anymore junk files. But there are a lot of pc's out there spreading the stuff. In the past week, I've identified about 140 unique IP addresses sending these crap files. So that might be an exercise in futility. I've noticed that this kind of crap has been steadily increasing over the past year or so. I'm afraid that over time this network will be overwhelmed by these jerks.
