how can I transfer ringtones to my phone?

as the process is quite different depending on your phone, you would have better luck on a support forum dealing with your specific phone.

I was thinking more like:

The actual make + model

Does it have BlueTooth?
Did it come with a cable that would let you connect it to your computer?
Does the memory card in it fit into a card reader in your PC and do you have a cardreader have one in your PC?
Do you even use a PC?
Did a CD come with your phone?
etc.
etc.
etc.
