Default Changed ID3 Tags

I had a major move and finally got around to getting my library of 3400 songs back on line. I've always wondered how LW finds, builds and exports the list of songs in a 'shared' folder. Speculated rightly or wrongly it uses the ID3 tag info when available. It must because my file naming convention rarely has anything directly to do with the song itself. Oh, obviously all are mp3 files.

So, first question, how I can see the list of songs being exported/seen from my machine?

I've known for awhile that about 400 of my files had ID3 tags that were built incorrectly. Today I corrected those 400 songs. Corrected the title and artist fields. Then I tried about a 1,000 ways to get LW to rebuild its library list using the new ID3 tags. Tried Refresh, tried deleting the shared folder and then renaming and readding it, all to no avail. When I run the cursor of those songs that I changed it still displays the old title and artist. I find that incredible. So how do I get LW to REALLY, REALLY, REALLY rebuild its list using the new data?
