Lost Library when updating to 4.16
 

:bangh: I had over 100 songs in my library. I updated to 4.16 and lost all my songs. Or i simply cant figure out how to get them back. My library is now emply. Has this happened to anyone else? Please help....I do have them backed up in Windows Media Player....

Hey man why do you think your library is gone?? What exactly is happening?? While in the LW Library Click on Saved Files (Left column) and see if this brings back your files.

thanks for getting back to me. yea, i checked the saved saves and all is lost. okay...they told me updates were available, i kept ignoring the messege, and finally clicked to update. Upon restarting, I went back into LimeWire and it walked me through the steps (as if I was getting it for the first time on my computer) install wizard set it up.....i went to my library....nothing there. once again, thanks for your help..text me back.....thanks.........-larry

I'm having the same problem! I had almost 2000 files in my library and I can't seem to find them now that I've finally updated to 4.16.6. I checked the "saved files" tab and there's nothing there. There is a screen on my "shared files" tab that says something about configuring which files I want to share, and when I click the button it doesn't seem to be helping me, so I just cancel it. I tried looking for my music files to add to my shared list, but there are no music files anywhere to be found. I check marked every box that says what types of files I want to share too, and that isn't working either. I would really appreciate any helpful feedback. Thanks!!

I Had This Problem Last Night, I Went Under Filters- Configure- Sharing- Add - Program Files/limewire/. Networkshare See If This Helps, I Also Added All My Files That Have Music And Videos

Thanks, but still no luck. I'm beginning to think that my files just aren't there anymore. Is that possible?

i dont think so. once you download them they are in your computer, it's just a matter of finding them. maybe someone with more experience can help.... good luck

If you've updated LW and can't find your downloads!

I just installed the newest version of Limewire and the "configure" screen came up. My library was intack and things were fine until I lost my library. I went to configure (not really knowing what it was that should be configured) and unchecked one that I thought was my document files. I went back to my library and it was gone. What folder should my library be listed in? I have never changed anything before, so the folder should be in a general one. My son will be very upset with me if I lost his downloads. Please help me.

i have found all my files but, all of my old files are not with my new files... it still says i am sharing 1400 files but when i click on audio or video only the new downloads pop up everything i downloaded before going pro is in another file and if i want to see them i have use the search my files feature. i am using windows vista and have comcast cable. my computer is only a couple of months old so the memory is plenty and i have 1050 ram any ideas?

I am having the same problem these other users are. I updated to the newer version of limewire and lost my library. I have a weird scenario also, there are three users on my system only one of the versions of limewire work correctly otherwise i would not be able to access my library at all. Is there anyone who can walk me back through the configure and tell me what to choose and what not to choose so i can get it back.

I have vista and nothing was wrong until i updated to a newer version 4.16 or something like that. I have had my new system for over a year now and last month i upgraded and have been screwed ever since. I need help not to whine about it in this forum. I am frustrated that we don't have links or numbers or something for technical support to figure out this mess.

Now that the "horse is out of the barn" so to speak I'm not sure you can retrieve the files you lost. The only suggestion I have is to check in the folder you designated to save your files. You would have had to designate where you wanted your files stored when you initially setup Limewire. This would be a Windows file.

In the future, you may want to consider copying, at least your music files, to iTunes or some other program like it. That way you'll have a backup copy to go to just in case.

It appears that we've lost our Music Library as well .... does anyone have any suggestions on getting the library/songs back?:confused:
