Limewire playlist added to iPod not showing on menu

Bear with me as I am not as techie as I thought I was.

I loaded Limewire music onto my iTunes and created a playlist. I then uploaded the music to my iPod Nano. It shows that the music is technically IN the iPod, but when I go to the iPod menu, it shows NO music, videos or anything...

When double checking, it shows the file usage increased and that over a 100 songs are on the iPod, but the iPod says there's nothing there.

What did I do wrong? How can I get the music to appear on the iPod? Did I miss a step? Help! :) My 11yo son is dying to listen to his music. He'd appreciate the help too. ;)

Do I have a defective iPod or something? Any help would be appreciated. If I need to clarify anything, let me know. I appreciate it!
