Help! need an explanation

Hi, I am using the basic limewire, have xp, 1.9 ghz and 40 g hard drive. I checked remove file after download in the tools section, and found the mp3 files I downloaded, but I downloaded a zip file and it seemed to have dissappeared? Any suggestions???

Could be your antivirus software deemed it malicious and deleted it. Most likely explaination. There are many viruses on the network. Especially zip rar and exe files

That may have been what happened. I did receive an alert from avast saying a worm was detected and I chose to delete it. I feel so stupid, I didn't think of that. I'm pretty illilerate when it comes to computers, but that makes sense to me. Thank you.
