How do I tell if I'm a supernode? I think that supernodes are designated based on computer power (I have an AMD X2 something and a gig of ram) and connection speed (over 9000 KBPS). If you are hosting alot of files, say, 3,881, how can you tell if you're a supernode? Are there any perks to super-node-dom? How do I prevent supernodification if I don't want to be one? |
To check whether you're an ultrapeer, click on LW's Connections tab...you'll see your connection status in the top left corner. Either leaf or ultrapeer. If you don't see a Connections tab, click on View > Show/Hide > tick 'Connections'. If you have a fast connection & aren't firewalled, you'll connect as an ultrapeer if the network needs UPs. Connected as an UP, you may see better search results but you may also see fewer uploads. In LW tools > options > advanced > performance. You can tick 'disable ultrapeer capabilities' > apply > ok...now you won't ever connect as an UP. |
Thanks a ton. |
