Virus(es) or just basic garbage 'popups'...

Popups are fairly easy to deal with... Many programs available out there but the Popup Blocker that comes with the GOOGLE TOOLBAR is amazingly effective.

For virus and intrusion protection the 'current' best seems to be a program called Nod32... It is very good.

It is safe and powerful. Be prepared for probably at least a 30 minute run unless your computer has an small number of files to scan. Nod32 removes viruses, 'spyware', dialers, malicious cookies... The works.
