Can't Hear The Songs In Media Player

I am using windows xp,my internet connection is DSL. Ever since I downloaded the latest version of Limewire Basic, version 4.16.7, I cannot get a downloaded songs to be heard in Media player. I can only hear it in Limewire library. The previous version of Limewire worked just fine. What I'm I missing.
