Default Newbie here...cant get limewire to play

Ok, have looked through the 1st 10 pages in here....nothing I can see to answer my queery.

The problem I am having is that I have downloaded both Frostwire and Limewire in the past week...and un-installed them...for the same reason I am facing now....Limewire will NOT play mp3s from my saved downloads.

I have just now re-downloaded Limewire 4.16.7 and SAME problem.

I am running a Compaq 40 gig hard, 1 gig cpu and 512 ram on a 'Windows 98 OS.

I have made sure that my volume in control panel is not muted.....However, Limewire just simply REFUSES to PLAY downloaded mp3s, however it WILL play downloaded Videos on Windows Media Player.

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you trying to play the MP3's with the LW Player or with WMP?? Don't use the LW Media Player. See if you can play the Audio files with WMP. Try Playing the files outside of LW. Find the Files on your HDD and try to Lauch them from there.

To find your files on the Hard Disc Drive, click on the Library Tab. Click on any file and then click on Explore. This will take you to the HDD where your files are Outside of LW. Now Double click on a file and it should open the file with the Default Media Player.

To disable the LW Player, go to Tools > Options > Player. Uncheck > Apply > OK.

To make WMP your Default Player. Right click a file. Choose "Open With" > Choose Program > Click on WMP > Tick the Box... Always use this Program to open this kind of file > OK.
