Unwanted spam ads Hi folks. As a new Limewire Pro user, I'm tired of unwanted internet spam ads continually being sent to my computer. It's almost enough to make me uninstall Limewire. Does anyone know how to stop this unsolicited rubbish? Thanks in advance - bye for now. Cheers Barry |

Thanks for this info, Lord of the Rings - I'll check out the topic pages that you mentioned. Let me say though that the unwanted spam that has suddenly stasrted invading my computer since I joined Limewire are internet pages promoting things such as mobile ringtones; gambling sites; travel sites; etc. I had none of this unsolicited spam infesting my computer until I joined Limewire, whereupon it almost immediately started. As stated, this is almost enough to make me uninstall the program. But surely there must be a way to stop this incoming rubbish, otherwise everyone would be feeling the same as me? I must have received 20 to 30 unsolicited internet ads today - presumably tomorrow there'll be another 20 or 30 of them, ad infinitum. For your info, bye for now. Cheers Barry |

Thanks for this, Lord of the Rings. The unwanted spam ads being sent to me seem independent of Limewire, yet they somehow gained my IP address or whatever from the site. They promote things such as the purchase of new mobile phone ring tones; travel ads; gambling ads; introduction service ads, etc. I had none of these before joining Limewire. I belive it's an unwarranted intrusion. That is, I joined Limewire to receive downloads - not masses of unsolicited spam. I shall be uninstalling the program in short order unless the problem can be soon remedied. Bye for now. Cheers Barry |
