How to block limewire? Hi all, Is there an easy way to block Limewire from downloading and uploading files? This isn't for my PC. Someone else on my wireless network is using Limewire and using up my bandwidth. I have tried asking nicely for them to remove Limewire but they won't so I need a simple way to block Limewire. The internet connection is shared by my computer via a AdHoc wireless connection with a USB DSL modem plugged in to my PC. Any help would be appreciated. :) Thanks. |
Perhaps you could ask them to restrict their use instead of totally stopping it. ;) eg: only a limited period of time per day. Problem is if LW is blocked, they could just as easily get another of many many others that are p2p sharing programs, not only gnutella network programs. |
well is this an uninvited guest on your network. Its got to be someone nearby. You could just kick them off the network and make the network password protected. |
Believe me, I've tried asking. Every time I get ignored... That's why I decided to try and block it. Maybe I should just change the network password and not give it until they uninstall limewire :cheesy: |
You should do that. If they can't respect that it is a shared line, then they shouldn't be on the shared line. |
