Trying to get a personal video blacklisted from limewire
 

Recently, a personal home made video of a friend of mines has made it onto limewire. We are attempting to get it blacklisted by limewire under copywright infringement and the fact is was without the owners consent that it was made public. Getting in touch with limewire is proving difficult as we are not pro members.....

Any advice at all on how to deal with this matter would be welcome.

I'm sure as you well know LW has no central servers.

LW is a program that connects to the Gnutella Network which gives you and everyone that uses it the opportunity to share files.

With that said, you and your friend are somewhat out of luck, especially thinking or hoping that LW can help you.

P2P means that you basically can put Anything on the Network and Share it.
Another reason for the on going battle with CP.

The file was not necessarily shared via LimeWire. It could have been "any" Gnutella network program, and there are a great many of them. Shared files are shared from the users point, not a server as Remoc said. ;)

Sounds like you need to check your friend's list to see who might be responsible as they will have the video somewhere of their choosing to share it from.
