Default connection to limewire

I downloaded the new limewire after uninstalling the old one. I never have had problems before but I cannot connect for the past 2 hours. I have DSL, Windows XP, the Gnutella client I do not know. I have tried everything and cannot connect. I am not behind a firewall. Help!

With the new version, it's probably best your delete the previous LW preferences folder; try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) BUT, make a note of all your option settings first before you do this. ie: go to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options & check the settings. Then close LW & do the above.

If that doesn't fix it, see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

Question Connected To host but not down loading

I am a newbi to this. I am using Windows XP Pro, fully updated. I Have 3gigs of ram, a 300 gig external hard drive and a 250 gig internal drive and a 160gig internal hard drive (C: ) I have a FIOS connection at 15Mbps Down 2Mbps up. I am using AVG. internet security ver.8.0 my modem is a advantic wireless modem. this is my home system, my provider is Verizon Fios. I live in the USA.

I have been trying to down load a discoposy. it started out fine on the down load. I got to 96% finished, then it droped to 0kbps with conected to anywhere from 1 to 30 hosts. I has been doing this now for 3 days.

Can someone tell me why it is connected to hosts but not down loading.
Thank you
