MP3 files filled with zeros. I am still unsure if this is due to malware, or possibly Ccleaner getting over-ambitious. After downloading some mp3 material a while back which all seemed to pass the tests as genuine I went to play some older tunes from the library without success. Investigation showed that a small percentage of the files had been overwritten with all zeros, but remained the same length as original. I was wondering if any one else had encountered this? I do not run dynamic anti-virus as this is an old & slow m/c, but subsequent scans revealed nowt. Using XP pro SP2, Limewire pro 4.12.15 |
Hi Nitro, I use Ccleaner several times a day and have for quite awhile. Never had an issue. Sounds like you May be infected. Download, update and scan your system with this Free Program. Seems to do the trick for me. Once on the site, click installation and then download. Let us know how it works out. a-squared Anti-Malware Help Hope this Helps. :) |
Many thanks - I will give it a try. I have been using Spybot with some good results, but nothing can guarantee to catch it all! Les. |
