About to give up after 8 months of connection.

Hi everyone, I am going really crazy here. I have been using Limewire, for some time with no problems, I paid to upgrade to Lime pro a while back, it worked fine. I am using a Windows Vista Op syst. Symantec Norton Home basic. I just cannot get this to work. It suddenly decided to not connect me anymore. This is doing my brain in. I have been doing "enable" this and that and the other, I am about to just give up. seriously. This is causing too much grief. if anyone has a solution that will not take up days of time and create stress then please answer. All the on-line connection solutions do not help. Just cannot get connectedany more. Now I have un-installed, and reinstalled, but I am not sure if that worked correctly. Will not even enable Limewire now, just says that some of the files are corrupted and will have to download again.I wish I could just go back to the very beginning and start all over again. I am pretty sure that I have lost all the music that i collected over the last six months anyway.

Thanx cootmaster, I wish I could turn the clock back, thus not upgrading from 4.14 to 4.16, everything was cool then. Thanx for the tip anyway...

Uninstall that version & get one from here LimeWire - OldVersion.com

I've stayed away from VISTA also. Discussed issues with it when I bought my new computer earlier in year, decided XP was the best way to go. Only down point is the graphics isn't as good. But hey, all hassles just for better graphics, no thanks. lol :D

Check thru the Stickies for VISTA section, also check all of these tips: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html

'If' you can find the equivalent drivers for XP, I wonder is you can run your machine dual mode. ie: XP & VISTA on same machine. A number of people do it.

Yes even a lot of professionals in all fields say similar things about VISTA. lol :D

strange its like AOL
or norton
1/2 LOVE it vista norton
half HATE it
although w all aol ads how many ppl REALLY say they like AOL but use it w no reason why they have it

as for dual i heard it i heard u can do it w slax too i tried it it killed my xp lol wouldn't boot

ill go vista if i get desperate
i can live w xp
my friend who built my xp who fixes computers told me
just stay away

i think i got 98 in 98 xp which was 00 in 04 so vista in 07 ill wait till 2010

it does need to be de kinked 4 years for xp was enough so vista 2010 is plenty time
