To be honest, there's not much difference between the free LW basic & LW Pro. If it were me, I'd just stick with the free basic version.

Pro lets you download from a couple more hosts (if the file has multiple hosts) & connects you to 2 more ultrapeers (hosts with fast connections that help with your searching).

If you paid $50 for Pro then it sounds like you were scammed. Which site did you pay for Pro? The only official site for download is: Lime Wire » Download LimeWire
LimewireLLC will appear as the vendor, on your CC statement. Pro costs $21.95 for 6 months worth of email support & updates, $34.95 for a year's worth.

If you bought Pro from somewhere else - apart from paying too much, you'll find that you won't be able to download updates from the official site... your email address won't be in their database.
