Connection to Hosts

I was wondering something. I noticed that when I had the free version of LW that I could only get connected to 8 hosts for a download. I did pay for LW Pro and now get 10 hosts for a download.

What I am wondering is that if I am downloading a torrent, I get some 30 odd hosts. Why is there a limit on only 10 hosts for reg downloads?

Most of my activity is downloading AVI movies. I don't know why there is a limit of 10 hosts when torrent blasts away at over 30 hosts.

Why is this?
