Creaking,slamming doors
 

Hi. Has anyone else heard a noise that sounds like a creaking door opening and then slamming shut? It's very loud. I have heard it twice now and was downloading with LW both times. I am very computer illiterate. I have Windows XP with Norton antivirus. I haven't noticed any changes in the way my computer is running. The first time I heard it I shut my computer off. This time I came here for help. Does anybody know what it is? Thanks

Do you use something like AOL Instant Messenger or Yahoo! Messenger? That might be where the door sound is coming from (when a contact signs in or out).

If you don't use any messenger programs, I'd update your AV & do a scan... just to be on the safe side.

Thank-you Birdy. I don't use any messenger programs and the sound just came out of the speakers. I wasn't listening to anything at the time. I'll update and scan right away and let you know if it happens again. Once again, thanks.
