Hi everyone Im new to the forum. I downloaded pro just before my old computer died, I have now bought a shiney new laptop, but when I tried to download pro again, which I had paid for and have the payment confirmation number, it says my email address is not recognised. I only have one address and I am certain that I typed it in correctly. Can anyone advise me what to do.

Did you pay LimeWireLLC for Pro (check your CC statement)?

Did you buy Pro for a year or 6 months? Your email address will only be recognised in the official database while your Pro's current - if you bought Pro for 6 months, your email address stays in the database for 6 months, if you bought Pro for a year then your email address stays in the database for a year. After that, your email address is removed from the database & you can't download free updates any more.

If you paid a scam site for Pro then you won't ever be able to update from the official site.

After you bought Pro, you would have got an email from LW with a link to your Pro personal download page. Have a look through your emails & see if you can find it. If you bought from the official site, LW will send you an email telling you when your Pro's about to expire

Hi thanks for the quick reply. I purchased Limewire pro from the official wesite on the 23rd Dec 2008 so only over a week ago. I downloaded it and had it running fine on my old computer but the computer died the next time I turned it on. As it was an old PC I decided to buy a new one, which I did on 30th Dec after setting up the new pc I then went to the official site and entered support, chose the correct option and entered my e mail address. It will not recognise it. I do not have the original download email but do have a print out of the acceptance of my payment which was made using American Express.

One of the LW employees pointed out to me that the most common mistake (if true Pro users), is people forget which email address they registered Pro with. But if you still have the email then obviously you used correct email address.

Solution: Check the details of the Credit Card Receipt. Now see Upgrading to V 4.18 (click on link), below image see the point made at the asterix * ... that is where you can find your download page url address.

I purchased the unlimited lifetime version for 34.95...I do not remember the email address or password combo...I have tried everyone that I can think of...Is there any other way to look me up in the LW system?

When did you buy LW & who did you pay for LW Pro (check your CC statement to see the vendor)?

The official site now offers Extended Pro for $34.95... 12 months worth of free updates & email support. This has been available since August, 2007. Before that, Pro cost $18.88 & entitled people to 6 months worth of free updates & email support.

The official site has never offered a 'lifetime' or 'unlimited' version of Pro.
There is no password required to download Pro - all that's needed is the email address that you used to buy Pro.

Are you sure that you bought Pro from the official site?

Check your browser history.. Go way back to December 23 or the day when you purchased. This will point you to the page where you paid your money. If it was not www.limewire.com/ then unfortunately you paid your money at a scam site 'pretending' to be LW site. Check the payment page in history or the page earlier to it in your browser history.
