Won't Let Me Delete Files

Sometimes when I download songs they don't work. They only say they are a minute long and they don't play. I take them out of my play list and try to delete them but it always tells me "The following files could not be deleted. They may be in use by another application or are currently being downloaded to..."
How Do I Delete Them?! it is driving me crazy! Please help!
