You first need to Add them to your LW Library. If you are using LW 4, then that LW listing you see in iTunes is simply a playlist that is playable but not copyable or burnable or copiable to iPod. How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) {click on link}. Also make sure in your iTunes preferences that you have the option enabled for 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library'. Edit menu -> Preferences -> Advanced ...

Hi there, thankyou very much for replying.......but, I still cant get this to work and Im gonna throw my laptop any minute now!! :) I did what you said, and made sure that the itunes preferences were set to "copy files to itunes music folder,yadda,yadda,yadda". I have a file on my LW site entitled "owners limewire tunes"- and on top of that, I have "owners ipod". I cant seem to get the tunes from the shared folder, to the ipod folder. I cant even click and drag them to the folder! This is so frustrating. Any new suggestions? I have looked over most of your posts and cant seem to find the solution- I have been working on this for days!! UGH!! Thanks again for replying!! Hope you can help me!! :)

If you read that thread link I gave, it says, ignore the LimeWire library & playlist. They don't do anything except give playlists to yourself, & if you're connected to a network it will give that playlist to other computers connected if they also have iTunes.

Go to the LimeWire download folder (saved or/& shared folders), open them up, select multiples of the song files by holding the SHIFT key down so they are selected together, then drag & drop them onto the Library icon at the very top of the iTunes playlist. When doing this, you should see a meter showing the songs actually being added to iTunes library (they are copied to the iTunes Music folders.) Now, you have the choice of creating a playlist to add those songs to iPod, else, manually add them. There is a tutorial about how to manually add songs to your iPod. :) (Yes, you can drag & drop playlists or manually drag & drop specific songs onto iPod but the latter 'only' if you have iPod set to manual update.) ;)

Once you have achieved this once, you will be on your way & won't forget. ;)

* For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. You can drag & drop songs from there to iTunes Library icon.

There's a lot of info & instructions in this thread: How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) {click on link}

Just remember that the 'your name's LimeWire tunes' list that you see in iTunes is just a playlist - so you can't add songs from there to your iPod. You have to add songs to the iTunes library & then move them to your iPod :)
