Lost Limewire Shared Files Help
 

I was trying to make some setting changes on my shared files because i was shareing well over 3000 files and it was laggin my pc when i was chatting and playing music when i selected stop sharing all my songs have disappeared from shared file i ran a search to find the songs i knew were there and the search results said they are in limewire shared files but when i go to clik on that folder it is empty can u help me please i had this problem once before and all i had to do was go to tools options add shared folder back but for some reason it is not working now and that folder is empty

I Went And Deleted The Preference Folder As Instructed And Reopened Limewire Went Through The Set Up Processd Again And My Music Is Still Not There I Feel Sure I Havent Lost The Music That It Is Just Hideing From Lol My Saved Music Is Still There But None Of My Shared Music Is There Once Again Let Me Thank You For All The Help And Thank U Again For The Time That U Give To Others I Truely Appreciate What U Do Here And Hopefully We Can Appreciate Some Music Together Soon When We Locate My Tunes Lol

Use your computer search function, type in .mp3 for example & see where the files are. :)

Before you changed your settings within LW's options - had you changed the locations of your saved & shared folders?
By default, 4.16.6 has the saved folder location as C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved.

And the shared folder is C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\LimeWire\Shared.

Providing that your files are all there within C:\Documents and Settings\your name\My Documents\LimeWire\Saved, you can open that saved folder by going to LW's library, clicking on Saved Files & then clicking Explore. Once your saved folder's open, you can also open LW's shared folder by doing the same thing (even if it's empty). Now just move files that you want to share from your saved folder into your shared folder.

Or you can create a whole new folder that you want to use for sharing. Name it whatever you like - eg limewire shared.

Add files from your Saved folder to the new shared folder. Then add the new folder for sharing by going tools > options > sharing > add > navigate to the new folder > select > apply > ok.

Yeah. ok i found all my my music ina differet location c//doc setting//username//shared for sum unknmown reason all my shared files are in this file now so i have figured out how to configure this folder into my shared music thanks again for all your help and patience i am so relieved and appreciative of your time if there is anything i can ever do for you please dont hesitate to ask >>>>>>>JOEY
