Windows media center problem

Hello Everyone
Im having a problem viewing what I have downloaded, it happens that when I click to view, windows media center comes on and does not play, sorry did not tell you Ive got Vista,Im trying to uninstall to no avail, can someone put me on the right track, thanks in anticipation.
