limewire pro - looking to download music to my mp3 player im looking to download music to my mp3 player. if i pay the 35 for the year do i still have to pay for songs individually? |
LW Pro is a one-off payment... if you buy Extended Pro for a year then your benefits (being able to download new Pro installers & email support) will last for a year. When downloading songs with LW, you're connecting to the Gnutella network & downloading files from other users who are sharing their files. There's no charge per download. If you haven't used LW before, try the free basic version first. If you're happy with basic then think about buying Pro if you want to :) The only official site for downloading the free basic LW, or buying Pro is: Official LimeWire Website & Free Download of Fastest P2P & Torrent Client - Lime Wire Just remember that buying Pro doesn't make it legal for you to download copyrighted files ;) Copyright Information - Lime Wire |

UK Bob Link sends back, "This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment, who has decided to block it in your country." Some kind of euro-secret? |
Same here. And those same idiots, who make sure a low quality crap youtube video is only allowed in specific regions, act surprised that "copyright infringement" is an uphill struggle. Sony BGM was one of the reasons I started file sharing in the first place. |
I get to that youtube link fine presently; Weeerd Al - Don't Download This Song Quote:

You know guys I knew some You Tube songs were blocked (because there are some that I cannot play) but, being in the UK, I can't tell what songs are blocked in which regions of the world. I find it incredible that a song/record can be legal in one area of the world and illegal in another. I believe this legal nonsense is just another way for the big boys to ration and control music, just like they did before the nineties (before the Internet became popular). UK Bob |
Thanks to our Supreme Court, Sony and friends will have much more influence over US elections. Corporations now have the right to spend as much money as they want to support, or contest, candidates for elective office. From that we can expect some interesting legislation. Alas, at least one-third of the nation doesn't have a clue as to what that means. I would call our Supremes a 'kangaroo court', but that would be an insult to marsupials. |
I have often suggested that people form music buying co-ops so that everyone can make a personal use copy of every group purchase. I also buy much of my music "used". I don't have any problems paying the groups, but don't want to pad some fat cat's pocket. |
Performers used to do concerts in order to sell more records. Now that most of the record profits go to the talent-less corporations, performers make records in order to sell more concert tickets. They know that they won't make any money from record sales. That's why some peformers don't complain about p-p filesharing. The industry needs to start thinking outside the shrinkwrap. So far, their methods have been as effective as Prohibition. There is a way for everyone to make money while allowing unrestricted p-p. |
