Gnutella Forums - removing topmoxie w/win XP

i have just found out about the topmoxie (TM from here on out means topmoxie) adware that is installed with limewire(LM).
i did not like the sounds of this ,so i used "ad-aware" to try to get rid of it but i found out ad-aware does not get rid of TM . so i went it to my computer search and typed in the word topmoxie and tried to delete it and i was given a window that said it contained java run and could not be deleted. so i double-clicked the word topmoxie and at the bottom of the list i saw java run.
i took java run and dragged it to my desk top. then i tried to delete the TM that i found and it worked. i checked LM to make sure i had no problems and it seems to be working fine.

And what do u do with the java run icon on your desktop all i did was place it in a folder that i had called unused desktop

i know im not the best at describing exactly what i did but maybe this will help:

goto start
goto to search
goto all files and programs
enter topmoxie
double-click top moxie
(at the bottom of this page you will find java run)
drag java run with the mouse to your desk top
go back to saerch results and delete TM
place java run in a folder on your desk top

topmoxie is now removed and java run is still there so u can still run limewire.

***********before u empty your trash can check to make sure all is still good with limewire to be on the safe side but like i said i have had no problems .
