Why do the fonts start turning colors when maxing the limewire window?

Most likely indirectly a Java issue, possibly also related to your system set up and video card at a guess & how well Java communicates with it & how good a processing unit your computer is. Purely guessing of course.

Make sure you have the latest Java version.
