try right-clicking? Make sure chat is enabled in the preferences window. Try doubleclicking? Try double-rightclicking?

Last time I tried the chat wouldn't work with JRE 1.1.8 ...

right clicking works to type a message to someone, however, i've never had any response from anyone so it probably doesn't work-like some of the other features!
