The funny thing about lot of Gnutella forums are those heavy flaming wars and civil war between Bearshare/Limewire Users/Vinnie.... actually it is the biggest disadvantage for all!

I have a dream of a gnutella community which sit together at a virtual table and think about improvements. The gnutella protocoll needs improvements, you'll see Bearshare and it's proprietary metadata or other ideas like Swarmcast or Mojo Nation. When we don't stop this, better improved ideas will end those discussion, because gnutella dies and propably Morpeuhs takes over the world. :)

PS: when you wanna continue about world domintaion, it's written "XXX über alles"... but who cares. This idea also died.

Vinnie is right... limewire is bad for gnet

stop using limewire right now and go download the new bearshare v2.2.5

Also, go to bearshare.net because this forum is all flames and lame people that don't know what the **** they are talking about... so its best to leave this forsaken place...

Fixed

Apparently they resolved the problem in the current version (or maybe future version?), so ignore my rant at the beginning of this thread.

Vinnie, it seems, is just trying to bull**** LimeWire and other servants because LimeWire said on their website that his Bearscare had spyware. He said that LimeWire had something real nice coming their way. What was he gonna do? Take a break from his intensive firewall cracking classes and destroy LimeWire? Anyway, Vinnie can bull**** his way to the moon and not get a single issue solved. We're just trying to get things sorted out and Vinnie comes along. I guess he's starting to ease up on that. We should focus not on finger-pointing and flame wars, but solving the issues. And by the way, lies don't help either.

First of all, the installaion of new.net and save now is optional! If you installed the program use ad-aware:

Vinnie is lying why? You have to read the agreement...
And if you flame on him you will flame back its human...

Hi Kutulus!

I know you love bearshare, I know you have been a member of BSTT - but you forgot one point:

Gnutella is a "open source" projekt! Bearshare is not alone and bearshare cannot exists without the other clients (like Limewire), you should know this...

And flaming on each other is so stupid...

I like bearshare too but I know we are one community!

it is not easy to defend Vinnie here, but also I feel you shot a little over the target also, if I may say so.

His (Vinnies) attitude is for sure not the best *ahem* , but it is impossible for me to complain about the niveau of his posts and then 'lower' me down, down to exactly the same flaming style he did so often.

I do not believe it is necessary to insult him, I can not see the sense in starting flame wars. If we do, nobody is helped, not us, not the gnutella community, and no newbie also. And I do not like, while reading threads, to sift out all the insults regardless the sides and my sympathies to harvest a little bit of information at last.

I became a gnucleus user last week, and I have to admit that this decision consisted 20% out of unresolved issues and 70% dislike of his attitudes*, and his endless insulting. This was no joy for me, no cheap revenge, I pitied him for he wounded him all by himself.

So, think, do you want to wound your point of view by insulting back?

Please do not take this as offence, it is not meaned so!

Greetings, and a lucky week!

*You wonder about the missing 10%? Easy: Calculating was never my strongest side :-)

Yes,

I have to agree. If Vinnie, and especially Kutulus, don´t stop flaming on other users who critize them - more bearshare user will go to Limewire etc.

Yeah man! What I really appreaciate, that the german Bearshare forum is the most friendly forum I have ever seen! There are no flames, aggresive people, no fanatics, but open discussions all about gnutella and P2P software. Also it's well moderated. Believe me it's a shame it's only in german language. :)
