*bearshare is perfect!!!

this program rocks.. its got everything.. you must download it. and if not.. you need to at least download a new gnutella client.. clients like gnotella are buggy and create problems for everyone on the gnutella network.

True Gnotella sux, and the only problemo with bearshare is it is chock full of trojan horses and spying utilities, other than that and its bugs need a wherehouse of Raid, its OK.

I used to use Bearshare alot, but the time to connect got longer and longer.Limewire on the other hand connects almost instantly and the percentage of succesful d/loads is now very high with v1.4

BearShare has no trojan horses or sypware only adware. The adware is explained up front and all you have to do it uncheck the box during installation and you don't even have that, so stop your bitching you unregistered LimeWire Wired idiot.

Batfink I have never had any problems connecting with BearShare, maybe your problem is that you using v1.4 instead of v.2.2.4

Just one more thing BearShare definitely ROCKS!

Spy packets and not improved, SUX!

I like Gnotella and the others better, this bear guy seems to have a bad attitude towards his users, he's censoring everything against his software, and seems to want to control everything. Those spy packet things haven't been removed and the guy doesn't seem to think it's a big problem. Besides getting a file with it sux, the others work better, I have got lots of stuff with Gnotella compared to the bear crap. Crashes are a problem too.

bearshare seems ok, but nothing is best

bearshare seems to be ok. at least it works and the gui is fast. it seems to loose hosts too fast. and i take the concerns about encrypted stuff and spyware seriously. or at least i try. it's nice you can choose not to install the addware (and it really doesn't then). but security has to be an issue with software sharing files of you (and having full acces rights under windows).

i like the idea behind gnotella more than bearshare. it keeps downloads in memory and retries them when you restart. skins are nice also. but it doesn't run smoothly ... yet.

so bearshare seems ok, but nothing is best. and things will develop further, so keep watching! just my little contribution to this ...

I've been using Bearshare for several months now and love it. Fast searches, quick downloads / easily managed uploads, etc.

It's a great program despite its current controversy.

Go Bear, go! and all that. :)

Do you work for The National Enquirer? You must because your accusations are so bent toward sensationalizing and half-truths it's pathetic.

1) "This bear guy" doesn't have a bad attitude towards his users, he has a bad attitude towards lies and ignorance.

2) He is not censoring everything against his software. You speak of something you obviously know nothing about, and are simple repeating what you've been told without knowing the facts.

3) The "spy" packets are not spying on anyone, so drop it.

4) As far as getting files and crashes... what version were you using? If not the latest then you deserve what you get. All software development takes time get the bugs out. If you don't use the latest version you're screwed only by your own hand.
