Bearshare help please

ok I just registered to see if I could get any help I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place too :x. But this is my problem, I had itunes and limewire for a while and my friend told me about bearshare. So I downloaded it and started to use it. But whenever I search, the picture for the files are as if they were .wma files. And if people on MSN try to send me songs its the same way even though there .mp3. When I receive the song and try to open it, it doesn't open in itunes, it opens in windows media player. As if I didn't have itunes set to my default player, which I do. If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. This problem is kind of annoying being my gf sends me a bunch of songs and now I can't get them opened in itunes. :mad2:

Open iTunes and somewhere in it's settings you should be able to set it to
"always check" that it is the default player for those files. This is an additional
setting besides being the default player.

Open WiMP and set it to stop being the default player (and to stop
checking that it is) for those same types of file.

For the best performance and direct integration with iTunes dump the
version you downloaded from the BearShare web site (the more recent versions
were crippled to please the RIAA) and get the version in this thread:
Sticky: BearShare has been sabotaged.

Delete the Library files in BearShare/db/ and empty out your downloads folder.

Okay, so basically i CANNOT put songs on my ipod, when i plug it in, Itunes comes up but Bearshare does nothing.
I go onto the thing where it says
-iPod/Mp3 player

But it just says plug it in and it should work, but when i do, it doesn't. Any help?

What "thing"?
Which "it" says to plug it in?
Which versions of BearShare and iTunes are you talking about?
